Thomasville, North Carolina has plenty of fun things to do, if you know where to look. Check out our guide to the best entertainment in town.
Thomasville has a long history in the furniture industry. This landmark was originally built in 1922 out of hide and lumber, but the elements took their toll on its construction, which was better suited for the drawing room of a giant’s mansion than outdoor use. When the original was torn down, the town banded together to build it bigger, better, and more durable. Today’s Big Chair is made of concrete, and has been in place since the mid-1930s. It’s a great kitschy photo-op, and a genuine piece of historic roadside Americana.
Tucked away in Thomasville’s historic downtown is Best In Show, one of the area’s premiere art galleries. Here, you’ll find a collection showcasing the best works of many local and regional artists. What better way to commemorate your trip to Thomasville than by taking home an original piece of artwork? If you’re moving to the area, then this is the place to go for art that will make your new house feel like a home.
